Simulating Evidence-Based Climate Action: A Collaborative Approach
The session will take place in a simulation format that immerses participants in the dynamic world of the climate change data ecosystems. Participants will assume diverse roles within and beyond the national statistical systems of a hypothetical country, including ministries, private sector representatives, academia, civil society members, media professionals, and international organizations. This innovative approach ensures active participation, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the climate change data landscape.
The session focuses on addressing the pressing need for evidence-based climate action. Recognizing the multifaceted impacts of climate change, the simulation emphasizes the real-world constraints faced by many countries in deploying evidence-based climate policies.
Building on the foundation of PARIS21’s Mobilizing Climate Change Data Ecosystems Framework, the session strives to promote collaboration between the data and academic communities.

A series of laudatory speeches from colleagues and friends who have accompanied Professor von Braun in his distinguished career will be followed by a reception with snacks and live music.
